NEWPORT BEACH

Newport Beach is a seaside city that is decked with oceanfront mansions and a yacht-lined harbor. Don’t let this intimidate you, though; Newport Beach also features historic cottages, inviting ice cream shops and a large bar scene. Day-drinking is a “must” with Newport’s beach-vibes. Hit the bars along The Peninsula for a day you are surely to forget!

BACK BAY |  The Back Bay Loop Trail provides an exciting opportunity for outdoor enthusiasts to discover a magnificent regional trail experience at the Bay. The 10.5 mile Trail is well-signed as it winds around Upper Newport Bay, with scenic stops. The Back Bay Loop Trail also links with the 22-mile Mountains to Sea trail – this National Recreational Trail runs from Upper Newport Bay through Irvine past Peters Canyon Reservoir and into the rugged mountains of Weir Canyon north of Irvine Regional Park. 

BALBOA PENINSULA | Locals know the three-mile-long stretch with the harbor on one side and broad, sandy California beaches on the other as “the Peninsula.” The Balboa Peninsula is home to many sit down restaurants and quick food stops for people hitting the sand for a day at Balboa Beach, and the variety of bars and live music makes the Peninsula a regional nightlife destination. But a trip to the Peninsula wouldn’t be complete without a visit to the Balboa Fun Zone, where the Ferris wheel has stood for more than 80 years, Discovery Cube’s Ocean Quest, and the world famous Balboa Island Ferry

FASHION ISLAND | Located in the heart of Newport Beach, Fashion Island shopping is Southern California’s premier coastal shopping and dining experience. With panoramic ocean views and towering palm trees, Fashion Island stores include prestigious department stores and specialty boutiques, more than 30 dining options and restaurants. This is a must for a shopping day where you can get a quick blow out at Dry Bar and have an a great lunch!
